On Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at 5 PM the Pettis County Historical Society will host a special fundraising concert in conjunction with the Scott Joplin Festival. The concert, to be held at the Katy Depot in Sedalia, will showcase eleven songs that were published by longtime Sedalia music publisher A. W. Perry & Sons. The songs will include The Favorite, by Scott Joplin, The Sedalia Waltz, The Missouri State Fair March, The Katy Flier Two-Step, and more. Performers at the event include Nora Hulse, Nan Bostick, Dan & Beth Eckles, and Mary Jo Antibus, with Darrin Hartman on vocals. Complimentary refreshments will also be served.
Tickets for the event cost $8, and can be purchased at the door, or in advance at the Katy Depot, 600 E. 3rd, Sedalia, or the Pettis County Museum, 228 Dundee Ave., Sedalia. All proceeds will help fund the Pettis County Museum, and other activities of the Pettis County Historical Society.
